Jasmine Birtles

Financial expert with a twist

Jasmine is unique in that she is able to combine her financial knowledge of business and personal finance with her comedy skills, making a usually dull and worrying subject palatable and easy to understand. She speaks on various financial and business issues including personal financial management and setting up and running small businesses. She combines an ability to please and control a crowd with an understanding of business and financial terms, making her a credible and entertaining host who gives information in a clear and entertaining way.

As a keynote speaker, facilitator, host, after dinner speaker and corporate presenter, she has spoken at and hosted conferences for a wide variety of companies and industries including BT, IBM, Ernst and Young, Barclays Stockbrokers, Sainsbury’s, Egg, Abbey National, Everywoman, Moneyfacts and pfeg. As an independent financial spokesperson she has helped promote financial services for companies such as The Post Office, Lloyds TSB, Air Miles, the Royal Bank of Scotland ,  Railcard, Carphone Warehouse, Gumtree, Love Food Hate Waste, Cornhill Insurance, Olay, the Foreign Office and price comparison sites, and she co-presented an in house business programme for HSBC.

She has set up, and runs, moneymagpie.com, a lifestyle-based money website which has information on all aspects of personal finance, environmental and ethical living and how to run a small business and make extra money.  It is country’s leading site for safe and legitimate money-making opportunities.

As a financial journalist she writes for a variety of newspapers and magazines including The Independent, The Express, Essentials Magazine, Move or Improve magazine, Glamour Magazine and many others.  Jasmine is the author of 37 books.

She is a regular financial pundit on TV and radio.   On television Jasmine has presented TV programmes specialising in business and personal finance – she co-presented BBC 1’s “Homes Under the Hammer”, ITV Scotland’s “Spend Spend Spend” as well as “First Time Buyers” and “Doctor Dosh” for UKTV Style and presented online for BBC Learning with financial advice for BBC RAW Money.  She regularly appears as a financial expert on all the news channels as well as GMTV, This Morning & The Wright Stuff.

Jasmine has entertained at corporate dinners and conferences with a unique act where she turns up at the event incognito - usually as someone the audience would expect such as a PR girlie, an American Human Resources executive, a Labour MP, a Swedish Head of Marketing or perhaps a leadership guru - and gives a speech that starts off as they would expect but then descends into humour and madness!
