Mark PalmerGlobal Brand Director, Green & Black's After graduating in Business Administration at the University of Bath, Mark began his marketing career with United Biscuits, where he worked for 5 years on brands including Hula Hoops and McCoy’s. He then spent 3 years as marketing manager for Burger King before becoming Marketing Director of Green & Black’s organic chocolate in 2001. During Mark’s tenure sales have risen from £4m to £65m. In 2005, Green & Black’s was acquired by Cadbury Plc and Mark now remains with the company in a part time capacity as Global Brand Director, overseeing the roll out of the brand to new markets including the US, Canada and Australia. In 2005, the marketing society voted Mark as their Marketer of the year and in 2006 Green & Black’s received the prestigious Grand Prix award for marketing excellence. Green & Black’s is widely acknowledged as one of the most entrepreneurial business success stories of recent years and has just been voted the UK’s ‘coolest food brand’ by the Superbrands panel for the third year running. Alongside his ongoing involvement with Green & Black’s, Mark runs his own marketing consultancy business and is also a partner at Nemadi Advisors – a boutique private equity firm that provides hands on management input and access to growth funding for fast growth small businesses. |
